1:05 PM CET – What is the status of ecolabelled procurement in the private sector?

Lena presents the findings from Nordic studies of professional buyers in private companies. The analysis examines buyers' awareness and use of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel and other ecolabels in accordance with ISO 14024 when tendering and purchasing goods and services.

Participants will gain insights into current market trends, the opportunities and barriers experienced by buyers, differences between sectors and purchasing categories, and how expectations towards suppliers are evolving.

1:20 PM CET – From strategy to practice: How If Insurance uses ecolabels in procurement and creates impact through Nordic collaboration

If Insurance shares its experience of using the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel and other ecolabels in accordance with ISO 14024 as part of its procurement approach.

The presentation will provide concrete examples of how ecolabels are integrated into purchasing decisions, as well as the benefits and challenges encountered along the way.

The session will also highlight the value of collaboration through the Nordic Networks for Sustainable Procurement, including how companies can learn from each other and help strengthen market demand for more sustainable products and services.

1:35 PM CET – How large companies use ecolabels and what this means for suppliers
Beatrice Chemutai, Contract Manager, Indirect Global Procurement, Rambøll

Rambøll works systematically to integrate sustainability requirements into procurement, supplier agreements and contract management across its operations.

Beatrice Chemutai will share how Rambøll incorporates sustainability requirements into contracts and tenders, and how these requirements are followed up in practice. She will also present Rambøll's ongoing tender for workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE), highlighting how sustainability criteria are included and evaluated.

The presentation will explore how trusted third-party certifications, including the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel and ecolabels in accordance with ISO 14024 can provide credible environmental documentation and help organisations assess suppliers' sustainability performance.
