General framework
This section contains the framework relating to the activities carried out in Denmark by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel – the official ecolabel in the Nordic countries.
The Danish Ministry of Environment has drawn up a Statutory Order on the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in Denmark. The Statutory order sets out the framework regarding the activities of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
The Statutory Order contains information relating to the responsibilities and activities of both Ecolabelling Denmark and the Danish Ecolabelling Board. You can also find out more about the framework for the use of the label and what happens if companies break the rules.

The Nordic Council of Ministers has set the overall framework for Nordic Ecolabelling.
The Nordic Council of Ministers has determined the overall rules for the Nordic Ecolabelling of Products and the rules of procedure for the Nordic Ecolabelling Board.
The Nordic Ecolabelling Board has set the guidelines for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Ecolabelling Board decides the criteria for each product group and sets the rules for the companies that apply for or have a certification with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
The Nordic Ecolabel Board has laid down the rules for certification of products and services as well as fee rules for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. On the page with rules and regulations, you will also find guidelines for using the Nordic Swan Ecolabel logo on products and in marketing materials.
