Smaller carbon footprint with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel height-adjustable desks
Approx. 20 % CO2 savings by choosing a height-adjustable desk certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel rather than a similar, market average desk.
An analysis from Implement Consulting Group shows that a height-adjustable desk that is certified according to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel’s latest furniture criteria (generation 5.0) has a smaller carbon footprint than a similar desk in line with the market average.
Limits on the consumption of energy alone for the production of MDF boards and for the standby function of the motor will reduce CO2 emissions by around 20 %.

CO2 reduction is probably even greater
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel also sets a number of further requirements that are not included in the calculation, but which will also lead to a reduced climate and environmental impact.
This includes e.g. the requirement of offering a minimum 10 year warranty, that at least 70 % of the virgin wood raw materials must be RED certified, as well as strict chemical requirements. In addition, there are requirements for the steel used for the desk’s steel legs.
