Cleaning of liquid damaged electronics is in itself a business that stimulate the circular economy, since it prolongs the lifetime of the electronic product - and thereby reduces the amount of electronic waist and the need to produce new electronic product.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel focus on assuring that the costumer experiences the service as a good alternative to throwing out and buying new products, and to assure that the service is done with as small an environmental impact as possible.
Cleaning of liquid damaged electronics:
- Has a high success rate of min. 70%, which prevents electronics waste and saves resources to produce new electronics.
- Ensures a fast service.
- Involves limited use of energy and water.
- Only uses Ecolabelled cleaning agents.
- Ensures the correct handling of electronic waste.

* When both the applicant and the manufacturer are micro-enterprises, the fee is reduced by 50%. The definition of company size is based on EU recommendation 2003/361.
** Where audits requires more than one day away from the office including travelling, Nordic Ecolabelling can invoice an additional fee of 1,083 € per extra day. Other extraordinary costs induced by the audit can also be invoiced the applicant. Nordic Ecolabelling will randomly spot check audit around 10% of the production sites affiliated with the licence every year. These audits will be invoiced to the licensee according to our price list (audits will normally be carried out and invoiced by the organization where the production site is located if inside the Nordics). If deviations are found during the audits – the level of spot check audits can be increased – and if no problems are found the level can be decreased. Nordic Ecolabelling solely decide the level of spot checks necessary.
*** The renewal fee only applies if the application has been signed and submitted before end of the validity of the licence. Else the normal application fee will apply.
*** Administrative tasks that takes less than 1 hour will not be invoiced.

A micro-enterprise is in this context defined as an enterprise with less than 10 employees and an annual turnover (of both Nordic Swan Ecolabelled and not Nordic Swan Ecolabelled products) below 2 million €.
